Give each other names like Ahmed and Pedro” So with all the other celebrities on this song being animals (and Kevin Hart as Kanye West), Lil Dicky takes on the role of “man”. After that, when we get into Lil Dicky’s verse. This whole animal shtick only happens for the first few minutes, though. There were only a couple jokes I chuckled at upon first listen, and I still find them a little funny now after a few listens, but I definitely don’t laugh at them now. They’re the most surface level, observational jokes you can make about animals, leaving most of this track feel inanely predictable. These jokes, though, are not funny…at all. As can be seen above, the first half of this track is literally a bunch of celebrities acting like animals and trying to make jokes with it. I’ve shown before that I am a fan of when artists tackle unique topics, but on here, Lil Dicky’s execution is so horrible. You know, about saving the Earth and what not. So, this song is an environmental-awareness track. How am I supposed to react to these lyrics?! It’s literally a bunch of celebrities acting like animals! No one knows what I do, but I look pretty cool I’m like a man, just less advanced and my anus is huge” However, for this song, I’m going to have a hard time doing that because…well… Now, those who read my blog know that in my song reviews, I go through some of the lyrics and pick them apart to find the positives and negatives a song has to offer. “Freaky Friday”, though, came out a while ago, and “ Earth” is the newest thing he’s released since then. Opinions on this song stay divided, but I thought it was a funny way to interpolate an old concept. This album gained him traction, but what blew him up was his single “Freaky Friday”. His style of inappropriate humor does not appeal to all (while I try to keep it PG on this blog, those who know me in real life know my sense of humor can be beyond vulgar), but he also showed on that project his technical abilities were on par with many classic rappers.
Like I said, there were plenty of gems on that album, including “Pillow Talking”, “$ave Dat Money”, and many more. He got started off making independent songs, but soon after released his first debut album.
Lil Dicky is a new comedy rapper that hit the scene a few years ago.
But this new song, it’s…well, let me give you all some background first. His debut “Professional Rapper” album has plenty of hilarious moments, and I was even a fan of “Freaky Friday”, which most of the music-reviewing community hates. I think he has a lot of talent and potential. Hello, I’m MusiCommentator, and I like Lil Dicky.
